My New and Refreshing Skin Care Routine of 2019!

Hey y’all!  Today’s blog is ALL about beauty and I am pretty pumped about it.  My skin care routine has definitely changed so much since I last posted a skin care blog and my skin has been thanking me for it.  I have added in a new cleanser, toner, face masks, and even new moisturizers and I wanted to go ahead and share my new routine with all of you!

I have been really into skincare for the past few years, so I wanted to make sure I was giving my skin the best products possible that work for me.  I had to change a lot of what I have been doing because the pregnancy has caused my skin to be crazy, so I switched it all up and everything has been clearing up thankfully!

The Cleanser I switched too is none other than the Ole Henriksen Face the Truth Gel Cleanser.  When I say that this little gel has transformed my skin, I truly mean it.  I had been telling Fred that I felt like the cleanser I had been using before this one wasn’t truly cleaning my skin as it should because I felt like my face would still be dirty even after I cleaned it twice.  I knew something was not right, so I switched to this cleanser in December and my skin has thanked me for it.  My skin went through the detox period where it was just cleaning out all of the breakouts and since then it has been so much better.  This cleanser smells like citrus and a little truly goes a long way, so we still have about half of the bottle left.  I typically wash my face with this goodness at night in the shower and it just helps my skin feel so refreshed. If you are looking for a new cleanser to try out, I highly recommend this bad boy.  It is only $10 at Sephora and online at Ole Henriksen, so it is super affordable and it lasts a hot minute, so you definitely get some bang for your buck.  It is also sulfate, paraben, and phthalates free so that makes it even better!

After I wash my face, I love to use this toner to get off any excess dirt or oil that may be on my face.  This baby has been helping me clear my breakouts for over a year now and I am beyond thankful for it.  I typically apply it in the morning after I wake up and after I clean my face at night with a cotton ball and it just truly helps dry out any breakouts that I am having.  It does not dry out my whole face as other toners have, but it does help keep your face from breaking out so much.  It honestly smells really good as well, so that is a huge plus in my book.  This toner, in particular, can be somewhat hard to get your hands on because it is that good that so many people use it.  It is $26 at both Sephora and Ole Henriksen and it lasts a while as well, so you definitely get your moneys worth when it comes to this one.  Just as the cleanser was sulfate, paraben, and phthalates free, the toner is too, so it is a win-win all the way around!!

I got this amazing moisturizer from my niece and nephews momma and she seriously SAVED me!  It feels so dang good on your skin and if your skin is having some type of reaction like mine was at one point, it really helps calm it down and makes it feel cool.  A little goes a very long way, so you do not need a lot of it.  Neutrogena has a Hydro-Boost gel cream for extra dry skin and then just a Hydro-Boost water gel and they both feel magical.  If you want one without any fragrance, then you will want the one for dry skin because it is fragrance-free.  I personally love the Hydro-Boost gel cream for extra dry skin because my skin has been super dry with the weather lately and it has done nothing but truly hydrate my skin!  What I truly love about this is that it is beyond affordable which I truly love.  You can pick this up from Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, Ulta and I’m sure so many other places and the price ranges from $15 -$19!  I personally would pick it up from Amazon, Target, or Walmart because it is much cheaper from those three retailers.

I have also been pairing the Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel cream with this Aveeno Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream for extra moisture for my face.  It feels so good and it isn’t too heavy, so it’s like the perfect combination I have found for my face.  It is fragrance-free and really helps repair dry skin, so I am so happy I found this because it has transformed my skin.  My right-hand gets super dry also when the weather gets this cold here in Texas, so it has really been helping to bring relief to not only my face but also my hands as well.  Another plus to this lotion is that it only costs $8 and I have had this since around November and use it daily, so like all of the other products, you get a lot of bang for your buck with this.  I picked it up from Target, but I am sure that you can grab it from Walmart as well or even Amazon!  Check it out!

That is all for my daily skincare routine, but I have been using three different masks that I truly cannot get enough of!  I am going to go from least expensive to most expensive, but to me, they are all worth every single penny.

I picked up this amazingness from Sephora about a month ago and I fell in love.  It is only $25, comes in lavender and the original, and lasts forever because you only need a little bit.  It smells so good and I feel like the smell alone truly helps you relax.  You apply a thin layer after you wash your face and then you can head straight to bed.  When you wake up, just wash your face and you will feel it being super relaxed, glowing, and so much more.  You can use it twice a week, so I highly recommend this bad boy for anyone looking for a good mask.

The Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque has been one of my FAVORITE masks for over a year now.  I was looking for something that truly helps clean out my pores and helps bring my breakouts to the surface to clear up and this does just that.  I use this mask weekly every single month and it truly helps my skin feel so much better.  It helps tighten my skin back up and it just cleans out all of the crap so that it can look fresh and blemish free.  I have been using this mask about three times a week since I became pregnant because all of the hormones are killing my skin and this helps keep it all together.  It brings every breakout to the surface and it just helps you feel good in your own skin.  You can pick this up from Sephora or Kiehl’s for just $35 and it literally lasts forever.  I bought my first bottle of this last February I believe and I just replaced it, so you are definitely getting all of the bang for your buck on this bad boy.  Definitely check it out because your skin will thank you for it!

The Tatcha mask is a mask to get if you don’t mind splurging on it.  It is a bit pricey, but it is worth every penny.  It helps to recover your skin and just gives your skin the prettiest glow you could have ever imagined.  I truly love this mask and use it about once a month or once every few months.  I picked this mask up from Sephora around the same time I picked up the Kiehl’s mask and it is still going strong, so depending on how often you use it, it will last you a hot minute.  It is a purple mask, so I honestly feel super cool wearing it hahah!  Anywho, this bad boy can be purchased at Tatcha or at Sephora for just $68, so it is a splurge, but it is so worth it.

That is all I have for my updated skincare routine, so I truly hope that you all enjoyed!  If you want to check out my routine prior to me changing it, then click here and you can see everything that I have changed and kept the same.  If you would like to purchase any of the items that I have talked about on today’s blog, then you can shop everything right here through my Like to Know it!
