Hey y’all!! I am super pumped for this beauty blog because it is one that I have been wanting to post for a hot minute now. About two months ago, Pothead Haircare created by Kail Lowry posted on Instagram how her brand was looking for about 6-8 people in the Dallas, Texas area to become models for her Pothead Haircare line. I decided to go ahead and send in a picture of my curls because I thought why not? Well, to my surprise, they actually chose me! I was so dang pumped because for this opportunity because they were asking for people with natural hair or a certain type of extensions and I have been natural since 2014, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity.
I can’t even lie, the day that this happened I was SOOO nervous because for one I’m super shy unless I know you and two, this was such a huge opportunity. I woke up and ate a little bit of Potbelly to have something in my stomach and then headed over to the Mermaid Sealon and just went for it! I walked in and the brand itself had so many different hair models there to showcase that it will work on more than one hair type and that is something that I loved. When you are natural, you realize that some brands truly only make their products for certain hair types and that is a huge bummer because you want to be able to try everything without feeling excluded. Thankfully, Pothead Hair Care is a brand that truly works on all different hair types! They had women with super long hair, people with extensions, people with short hair, people with colored hair, and people with natural hair and we all LOVED what it did for us.
I had never tried the products before this day, so I was going in with an open mind and super eager to see how it truly worked on all different hair types because like I said before, so many brands products truly don’t work for my hair. They had a stylist from the Mermaid Sealon shampoo and condition my hair before they styled it. Let me just say, if you are looking to get pampered and just a blowout to make you feel good, you will definitely want to stop by here because the atmosphere was so fun, friendly, and more than relaxing!

Pothead Hair Care’s Leave Me Be – Picture by Ciarra C. Photography
After my hair was washed, the stylist went in with the leave-in conditioner called Leave Me Be and my first impression of it was that it smelled SO GOOD! What I truly liked about it is that is truly helped to detangle my curls and it just made my hair so much easier to work with. It honestly blew my mind how simple it was for her to detangle my hair with the Leave Me Be because it has been an actual STRUGGLE to find a leave-in conditioner that does what it should do for curly hair, so I was honestly thankful that she used it on me because it has honestly changed my curl game! This bad boy is infused with CBD oil and shea butter which I believe is why it smells so dang good! It also explains why it helps to truly detangle the curls, keep the frizz to a minimum, and keep it feeling smooth all day long. It’s an amazing leave-in that everyone should truly try out!

Pothead Hair Care’s Elixir – Picture by Ciarra C. Photography
After she detangled my hair with the Leave Me Be, she diffused my curls and then went in with the hair oil named Elixir. When I say that this oil is so lightweight, I truly mean it. As someone with curly hair, you don’t want a hair oil or a leave-in conditioner to be super heavy because it will weigh your curls down and not give them the actual definition they deserve, but this oil was a different story. It is lightweight, it smelled delicious, and you truly only needed a few pumps to have your hair shining. It had my hair shining all day long, which is an actual blessing because it is hard to find an oil that benefits curly hair as Elixir did. Another plus about this oil is that it has CBD in it and has kept my scalp from feeling super dry lately and just made it feel hydrated. It has also kept my frizz to a minimum while maximizing the amount of moisture and shine that it gives my curls, so I honestly give it a whole A++!
What I have been doing recently is sectioning off my hair when it is dry into three parts and using the Leave Me Be and Elixir together and Oh my goodness! It makes my curls super defined even before my hair is dry and the combination using the two products together smells so dang good!! When it is dry, I don’t have the of the flyaways that I typically would have and I can actually flip my hair with my hands and still keep the frizz down, so I truly love these two together!

Pothead Hair Care’s Cloud Nine – Picture by Ciarra C. Photography
On another note, Pothead has one more product and it is called Cloud Nine. I was kind of skeptical about it, not in a bad way, but because I truly did not know if my curly hair would be able to benefit from it. The Cloud Nine is their volumizing powder that can also be used as a dry shampoo! My mom loves dry shampoo and I know a ton of other people do too, so I thought I’d try it out on my curls. What I didn’t know is how much my curls could truly benefit from this powder. It is infused with CBD oil as well and all you have to do is spray a few pumps to your roots and then fluff your hair and watch your hair rise. Us girls in Texas love us some big hair, so when I started to use this on my curls I was LIVING! My curls had so much volume and I was shocked because it will typically get flat throughout the day, but with Cloud Nine is stayed big all day long. I now use this baby every single day and my hair thanks me for it because even when I’m not looking put together, my hair is!

Pothead Hair Care’s Dispensary – Picture by Ciarra C. Photography
One more huge plus to this entire line is that it is cruelty-free, sulfate free, and paraben free, so your hair and the animals will thank you for it!! I know mine did.
